Notes for those enquiring about Confirmation 2007

The Diocese of Coventry holds a Diocesan-wide Confirmation Service twice a year - usually at the Cathedral - for parish churches where numbers would be too small for a local service to be viable, and for candidates with special circumstances, etc.

This year the dates are Holy Saturday (Easter Eve) April 7th at 8.15 pm at Holy Trinity Coventry, adjacent to the Cathedral (because of a live BBC broadcast at the Cathedral itself) and Saturday 17th November at 5 pm at Coventry Cathedral.

Clergy have to complete a form for submission to Bishop's House (co/ Maureen Pratt, Co-ordinator) at an appropriate time beforehand.

A short course of Catechetical Instruction/preparation would be necessary for those wishing to become candidates for Confirmation.  This would be arranged by the Priest of the Church concerned and would cover topics such as:

Christian belief: The Creed

Christian prayer:  The Lord's Prayer

Christian behaviour:  The Ten Commandments

Christian membership:  The Church To-day

Christian celebration:  The Holy Communion

Any wishing to explore this possibility further should get in touch with The Revd John Bradford accordingly (email:  revjohnbradford@aol.com, tel/fax: 0121 705 9895).
